We expect our portering staff to know the hospital layout inside out from day one to help them to carry out their duties efficiently and enable them to give informed guidance to members of the public. We have also invested in technology in this area of our business by bringing in computer-based systems that record and track the movement of patients or any other ad-hoc tasks, from the time they are requested to when they are carried out. This acts as a powerful management tool for both the hospital and our own management team.
